Sanitariums were used as long-term treatment facilities for ill patients, particularly those with tuberculosis (sometimes abbreviated T.B.) before antibiotics were made available. The renovated building was later being used as the Tuscarawas Attention Center, serving girls and boys through a court order or from law enforcement officers. They built a new DH down by the County jail. I guess they decided to tear it down then. I changed this a little bit and it can now hold trackables. so the TB part works for 2 reasons. There is also a Cemetery down the road from when this was a T.B. Sanitarium. I believe there is only 2 small plaque style headstones in the whole field. Please bring a writing utensil.
