This is McAlester's first night cache as well as mine. This should be able to be completed in about an hour in the non-summer months. With leaves on the trees it may take a little longer.
When I moved to McAlester this past year I realized that there were not very many hides outside the normal traditional type. So I set out to find a location where a night cache could be located to add some options to the area. There should be plenty of parking at the posted coordinates. As you get to stage 1 you should see a tree with 4 fire tacks in it. 2 white and 2 orange, this is your starting point. You are looking for white tacks about 20 yards apart and on the other side of each marked tree there is an orange tack. This orange tack will give you your bearing to look for the next white tack, Since there was not much of an actual path to follow I have made these tack visible from tack to tack. That being said as trees get more leaves or grow the view may become blocked, but should always be at the same bearing the orange tacks guide you to. At the final location there will be several white and orange tacks all in one spot. This is where you should be looking for the container at. This cache has plenty of room for a pen and it has one for the moment. Also I shouldn't have to tell you this but I am anyways. This is a night cache and unless you have some super geo-senses you will need a flashlight to complete this find. Good Luck and beware of the turtles. Happy Caching.
