This lookout point is a central place for many of the trails in the Kaapsche Hoop area. You can get great views on clear days and it is always a wonderful outing with the family.
It is however not only the view from up here but also some rock formations nearby the lookout tower that is of interest.
There are many rock formations scattered throughout Southern Africa and especially in these parts of the country. In most cases it is largely considered to be of Asian (Dravidian) origin but not all of these formations are from that era. This area was traveled, utilized and inhabited by various kinds of people, from Asians, San, Africans and Europeans, in different eras.
When you visit this place and search for the cache, try to see if you can quess (a real knowledgeable opinion will be much appreciated) from which era these formations came from and who built it.
The cache was not placed in any of the rock walls that was erected but inside a natural rock crevice. Please do not search where the rocks were stacked.
Please take care near the cliffs.
