Geocache Description:

Bob Sullivan Memorial Ball Field is named for a local Lenox Dale baseball legend.

On April 30th, 2011 the baseball diamond at Tillotson Park in Lenox Dale, MA was dedicated to Bob Sullivan.  Sullivan led the Lenox High School Millionaires to a championship in 1946 and then played in the Cincinnati Reds' minor league teams before giving up the sport he loved.  In an era when Berkshire County was flush with talented ballplayers, Lenox prevailed in 1946 as Berkshire County champions. "Sully" led the county with a .500 batting average and topped the county league in home runs.  He declined a chance to play professional baseball to return home and work the family farm.  Sullivan later played semi-pro baseball with the Brass Rail team of Pittsfield, the Lockport Reds of New York, and the Philadelphia Athletics of Georgia.

This is a daylight only cache as the park is off limits after dark. There is plenty of parking at the ball field, but during baseball and softball seasons it can be very busy. Please bring a pen. Who doesn't do this?

Please place the cache back exactly as your found it. First to find gets a leather 1311 FTF coin.

****** PLEASE don not remove the original CC with a full log. It belongs to the original hider! I added a 2nd container for an empty log to sign... Thank you!!! Congratulations to Chasing the Goat for the First To Find!
