This is a reasonably easy trail with minimal elevation change.
Recomended parking is at the Pacific Crest Trailhead near Donner Summit. Exit interstate 80 at Boreal Ridge and go east on the south frontage road to N39-20.373 W120-20.573.
Follow the access trail that leads to the PCT and continue southeasterly along the PCT to coordinates N39-20.242 W120-19.851 at which point you will find an indistinct trail going southeasterly (right). After you follow said indistinct trail for a short distance it will become more distinct. The trail will pass two very pretty lakes, Azalea and Flora, that are not often visited. There is fishing for non-game fish for the kids and swimming for those so inclined.
The cache container is a painted plastic bottle of about one quart capacity. Please don't put any kind of food items in the cache that might atract wildlife.
