Il comune di Armeno, il più a nord della provincia di Novara, con poco più di 2000 abitanti e molti più villeggianti nel periodo estivo, da sempre "esporta" in tutto il mondo personale alberghiero.
Questa tradizione è forse nata ai tempi della peste manzoniana, quando molte famiglie nobili scappavano in queste zone da Milano, cercando in loco personale "sano" da assumere per seguire la casa e la cucina, personale che poi spesso restava al seguito della famiglia un volta rientrata in città.
Di fatto sono migliaia le persone emigrate da Armeno, nel corso di quattro secoli, per dedicarsi all'attività alberghiera, per restare semplici camerieri o direttori di sala, cuochi o, a volte, diventare premiati chef in prestigiosi ristoranti sparsi nel mondo. Non a caso ad Armeno ha sede un'associazione alberghieri e viene ospitato il museo degli Alberghieri (in via prati 3, vedi waypoint). Anche il negozio più in vista nella piazza principale del paese (di fronte alla cache) era un tempo dedicato alla vendita di abbigliamento cuochi e camerieri.
La cache non è difficile da trovare, ma, essendo posta in un luogo spesso molto frequentato, è necessaria molta scaltrezza per riuscire a recuperarla senza dare nell'occhio.

The town of Armeno, the northernmost in Novara province, with just over 2,000 inhabitants and many more vacationers in the summer, has been always "exporting" throughout the world Hotels’ and restaurants’ staff.
This tradition is perhaps born at the time of the 17th century plague, when many noble families fled in these areas from Milan looking for local "healthy" personnel to be hired to take care of house and kitchen, people who often remained in service once the family came back to their main house in the city.
In fact there are thousands of people emigrated from Armeno, in the course of four centuries, to devote therselves to the hotel business, remaining simple waiters or room managers, cooks or, at times, become award-winning chefs in prestigious restaurants around the world. That’s why in Armeno is based the Hotel staff association and the related museum (in via Prati 3, see waypoint). Even the most prominent store in the main town square (in front of the cache) was once dedicated to selling clothing for cooks and waiters.
The cache is not difficult to be found, but, being placed in a place often very crowded, cunning is needed in order to recover it without attracting attention.
