Valley of Gold is a traditional geocache placed within sight of the "Deloro, Valley of Gold" town sign. This is not a busy town. It will be no problem to pull over on the side of the road. There is more space on the west side of the road, so you may want to search for this cache on your way OUT of town, if going back to Highway 7.
Deloro used to be a bustling gold mine town with its own hospital (now an abandoned building) and sports teams for the many mine workers that lived here. Deloro today has a population of about 180 people. You can read about the history of the Deloro gold mine, how the gold was attached to arsenic, and how extensive the clean-up project has been, by going to the webpage for the nearby Earthcache on "Valley of Gold Earthcache, Deloro".
