backroader44: Yeah, sorry it took me so long to do anything with it. It will be hard to replace this one as it was in a tricky spot anyway.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Gull Lake Recreation Area, near the Gull Lake Dam, which is located on the widely known Gull Lake. It can be accessed either by foot from the Gull Lake Recreation Area’s trail systems or by boat from Gull Lake. Enjoy a day of fishing, boating, swimming, or hiking, and going to this cache all at the same time!!!

To get to the cache you will either need to go by foot or boat. If going by boat you can launch from any of the launches on Gull Lake. The cache is located on the southern side of Government Point, which also can be a good area for fishing. You will have to get out of the boat on shore at some point to get to the cache, although you can see it from your boat. If going by foot, the easiest way to get there is from Highway 371, turn onto the Gull Lake Dam Road, which is marked on 371 and also has a sign pointing to the Gull Lake Recreation Area. You will go all the way to the end of the Gull Lake Dam Road (4 miles) and take a left to proceed into the recreation area. You can either park on this side of the dam, or cross the dam and go to the boat launch and beach area, where you will have to pay a two dollar fee to park. If you walk in because you parked somewhere else, you are still expected to pay one dollar. Note: There is no person to make sure you pay; you put the money in a fee box; they just trust you that you’ll pay, but people have been ticketed before for not paying (you get a card to put in your windshield when you pay). Once you’ve parked and paid, proceed to the boat launch area and to your left you will see a marked trail going into the woods. Follow these trails to get to the cache. Note: You will have to go off the trail at some point, and don’t worry about too much about going the way the arrows on the trail point. Don’t depend too much on your GPS when you get close, because you might get pointed the wrong way in thick tree cover. What I find best to do is: When you get within 50 feet, get out youu compass and find north. Then line north up with the N on your GPS on the “Go To” page, so that way, your arrow will be pointing the right way again. If you don’t do this when you get close, your GPS will seem not to be pointing in the right direction. Also, you will probably have to use the clue for this cache, as it will be pretty hard to find without it. The cache is in a cylindrical shaped Tupperware container, which has a diameter of 4 inches, and is 6 inches tall (make sure you bring something that will fit) (It's fairly full already) . Once you’ve found the cache, you can complete the trails for a nice walk and also a few “lookout” spots over Gull Lake.

Things You Should Consider Bringing To This Cache:

-Something to exchange if you plan on taking something.
-Some long pants as there is poison ivy in the area.
-Some shoes with good grip as you will definitely need it for this cache.
-A compass you almost need, for the method mentioned above.
-Water, it gets really hot in the summer.
-The hint, most people will need it to find the cache.
-A trash bag to pick up any trash you find.
-You might want some bug spray, as the bugs can get pretty bad at times.
-You might want to bring a swimsuit too, in case you want to go for a swim afterwards at the nice beach, which is less then half a mile from the cache.
-You can also go fishing in the area, so maybe your fishing pole.
-And of course…your GPS

Things Not To Do:

-Plan on doing this cache in less then 30 minutes.
-Get wet :) (you don’t have to get wet to get this cache, but it is near the water.
-Rely too much on your GPS when you get close (you might have to make multiple approaches and use a compass to help your GPS point the right way).
-Probably not the best cache to bring the little kids to.
-Don’t plan on being able to ride a bike or ATV down these trails, as walking is the only thing permitted.

I’m certain you will enjoy this cache, as I know I did just getting to hide it. Good luck, and keep on caching!!!
