This isn't a safe geocache to visit with small children, so be warned. The old bridge has no side rails, and could be very slippery when frosty. The chasm itself should only be entered if the creek is low. The scramble down to the creek could also be loose and slippery. However, to find the geocache you don't have to go down the bank or enter the chasm. There is lots of parking on the northern side of the bridge and a reasonable lay-by on the southern side. Access the old bridge by walking up the gentle rampart either side of the creek, starting where it meets the current road. If you're upto it and conditions are safe, the short trip into the chasm is worthwhile.
