Atkins Glen Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

This is an absolutely beautiful and peaceful spot tucked away behind Atkins Glen at the border of Woodcliff Lake and Park Ridge NJ.  On a brisk January day in 2016, two of my daughters and I (along with our dog Baxter) placed this cache.  This is a beautiful place anytime of year but is most active during snowy winters when hundred of people come out to sled.

This cache is "tucked away" along the Bear Brook (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bear_Brook_(Pascack_Brook)) behind Atkins Glen.  You should park in the public parking lot and make your way up to the start of the trail (2 boulders and a sign).  Follow the trail (which parrllels the brook) a little more than 1/10th of a mile to get near the cache.  You do not need to cross the brook to find the cache, but you do need to get very close to it!

The cache is a small black nanotube with a folded up log book.  Bring your own pen!
