Geocache Description:

Here is a tiny little spot with a meaningful past.ย  It's just tucked away in an industrial/office area.

I recently did a clean-up and replaced cache to the back east corner. You can walk around or open the gate and walk straight through. There's a basket of stones inside the gate for you - take one to place as a token of your visit and respect.

You'd never think to stop here. Take a minute to muse on past lives.

X11fitter did some additional research on the "resident" and here is his story. Henry Barnes Woodhouse lived in the London Bridge area of Princess Anne County where he farmed and operated a blacksmith shop. He served as Brigadier General in the Nineteenth Brigade, Fourth Div. of the Virginia Militia in the 1840s and headed a home guard unit during the Civil war. Congrats to Steve-n-Kim for FTF - Published at 7:30 pm and found -(in the dark) at 8:30 pm. It's an honor to be part of their landmark day - 60 caches - mostly on the Tobacco Heritage Trail out near Emporia (that's a 2 hour drive both ways)- elevating them to 10,000 caches. Double Congrats!
