Geocache Description:

Welcome to Celtic Shores Coastal Trail! We have been waiting for you! The 92-km Celtic Shores Coastal Trail stretches from Port Hastings to Inverness on the west coast of beautiful Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Explore the best of Canada’s seacoast as you journey along the trail where awe-inspiring natural beauty is matched by the vibrant celtic culture of our region. This exceptional trail system meanders along the coast providing first-class trail experiences for bikers, hikers, runners, quadders, skiers, snowmobilers and horse-back riders.

If you look towards the ocean, you'll see a small building, this is the original building that used to house a speedy, a small man powered cart that rode the rails, they would be used to check the line, carry the men out to make repairs or any other shuttling of personal that was necessary in the daily operations of the railway. These would be placed all along the railway, but few locations are currently known.

This shed has been moved about 60 feet and rotated 90 degrees, it is privately owned now, but remains a big part of the railway history, many of the people that worked on this railway signed their names on the inside walls of this shed, it is also the only one known to be still intact.  Please respect the property, look but do not touch. Please bring own writing tool
