Geocache Description:

We want folks to visit and see the what's left of the former Fullerton Elementary & High School. Great history all around the area, about the town, and their way of life during the hey day of the logging industry.

Before we began to find a few geocaches on a day off, the kids and I prepared a Geocache to be hidden ourselves. We left some good SWAG (a Zippo lighter, candle, plasic gold coin, a fool's gold rock, decorative bead, survival cord bracelet, of course no Louisiana cache would be complete without Mardi Gras beads, and other items), as well as a trackable coin we found a few years back, the cache is complete with a log and a pencil. We wanted to place it with-in the Historic Fullerton Sawmill and Town Area as it is a favorite spot of mine and my family (hiking, fishing and camping). You'll start your journey at the fence with the school sign and the coordinates will lead you towards the old schoolhouse . Then look around it won't be too hard to find. We placed it somewhere in the area of the ruins of the former Fullerton Elementary and High School. Happy hunting and good luck for the first to find!

Permission to place this cache was obtained from head Park Ranger from the Calcasieu Ranger District, NFS.
