Il lago di Barrea è un lago artificiale realizzato attraverso lo sbarramento del fiume Sangro con una diga presso la foce di Barrea.
I lavori di realizzazione della diga iniziarono nel 1949 e finirono nel 1951; essa permette di generare energia idroelettrica, ed è attuamente gestita dalla società ENEL.

Lake of Barrea is an artificial lake created by the damming of the river Sangro with a dam at the outfall of Barrea.
The construction works of the dam began in 1949 and ended in 1951; the dam allows to generate hydroelectric power, and is currently managed by the company ENEL.
