Mardi Gras, also called Shrove Tuesday, or Fat Tuesday, refers to events of the Carnival celebrations, beginning on or after the Christian feasts of the Epiphany (Three King's Day) and culminating on the day before Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday", reflecting the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season.
In the geocaching world, it is as good an excuse as any to get together, share some geocaching stories and exchange some trackables!
We will meet up at the spot where the Christmas Tree was just recently. You can look for the large round plaque on the ground, which is where the posted coordinates bring you to. This is also right above the skating rink and below the American Flag, which is flanked by all the other flags in the plaza.
If it gets too cold outside, we will head into the plaza through the doors across the way and head down to the cafeteria area downstairs
Additionally, there will be a limited number of Mardi Gras trackable geocoins available for purchase at the event. The coin is a two-piece coin with a "mask" that attaches to the coin magnetically. The artwork of the coin is shown below. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
