Did you know that every branch of the New York Public Library offers free Wi-Fi? That's great news for all geocachers visiting from out of town!
Update: May 2017 - I have been notified by the New York City Geocaching Community that the NYPL Series of caches has won the award for Best Series in NYC in 2016!!
The Manhattan Cruise Terminal, formerly known as the New York Passenger Ship Terminal, opened in 1935 and consists of North River Piers 88, 90, 92 and 94 along the Hudson River. Cruise ships currently dock at Piers 88, 90 and 92, which allows for over 1 million passengers each year, many of whom are geocachers! Well, maybe not "many"...LOL
Just to the south of these piers is Pier 86, which is the current home of the USS Intrepid. The ship was decommissioned in 1974, and then in 1982 became the foundation of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. In June of 2012, the Intrepid became the home of the Space Shuttle Enterprise.
