Geocache Description:

A little less than a year has passed since the start of the Harlingen Geo-Quest so we have added a few more caches starting December 21st. We also have moved some of the containers that have been subject to Muggle tampering. If you are new to the Quest make sure to check our website http://www.myharlingen.us/page/parksandrec.geocachinghome and if you are coming back, thank you and feel free to earn a second coin by finding the new and transplanted caches.

This 40 acre park has a little something for everyone.  It houses the Victor Park Pool (Olympic size), and our Harlingen Rotary Bark Park.  It has fields where youth football and baseball play as well as lighted Tennis and Pickleball courts.  A rental pavilion, playground, and picnic shelters complete the amenities, which make this a popular place to play on the weekends.

The park was named after "the John J. Victor estate which donated the land to the city before 1963.  Mr. Victor lived in Oklahoma City, while two of his sisters once farmed the area (here in Harlingen) using mules.  Goat herds were a common site on the land here.  In the 1930s it was the site of a roping arena. (Taken from The City Parks of Harlingen, Texas by Norman Rozeff Harlingen Historical Preservation Society)

Parking is right next to GZ so this geocache is easy to get to, but hopefully not that easy to find.  Small in size with a lot of potential hiding spots, this has the potential to be a head scratcher, but fret not.  Take a seat, look around, and go for the not so obvious hole.
