Uncle Lindy Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

denjoa: This has been an interesting one. The location of the final was in a fine place to start with until the gardeners trimmed the tree 'way back . . . but they were good enough to leave the container - a regular. It was then moved to a shrub but we were never happy with that and moved it again . . . this time within 161 m of an existing cache so that didn't work!! Finally, we put it - now a micro - about where it ended up but, on one occasion we couldn't find it so replaced. it. Later, cachers found both containers and brought one to us - the original as it turns out . . . but we weren't sure! So, today, we weren't sure what we were looking for but found it - on our second day of searching!!

Time to say "good night!" to this one! Thanks to all who have visited.

Geocache Description:

Congratulations to Cache Grab and sabrwout for earning joint FTF honours!
Although this is not a "restin'" cache per se, it is in a cemetery so please be respectful and please seek it only during the daylight hours.
The posted co-ordinates take you to a great place to rest for a few moments and contemplate the universe . . . depending, of course, on the season. At the final, you may find tweezers an asset.

The “spring check” in 2019 will be the last of the regular formal checks at this location; hereafter, we will visit only when we are informed in a log or personal e-mail that maintenance is needed - so please keep us informed!

A Memorial

Here, you will find a memorial dedicated to an uncle obviously loved and respected by members of his family. From the information provided there, you will be able to answer the following questions and do the arithmetic to find the co-ordinates of the cache.

The Questions

1. How many letters are there in Uncle Lindy’s middle name? A = ___.
2. In what year was he born? BCDE = ___ ___ ___ ___.
3. In what year did he die? FGHJ = ___ ___ ___ ___ .

The Co-ordinates of the Cache

The co-ordinates of the cache are: N 44° 19.kmn and W 078° 43.pqr.

Remembering that A = ___ ; B = ___ ; C = ___ ; D = ___ ; E = ___ ; F = ___ ; G = ___ ; H = ___ ; J = ___ , calculate the cache co-ordinates as follows:

k = C - D = ____ ;    m = G + B - A = ____ ;    n = G - J = ____ ;

p = E - (C - J) = ____ ;    q = H - A = ____ ;    r = G - H + B + D + F = ____ .

Thus, the co-ordinates of the cache are:
N 44°19. ___ ___ ___ ’ and W 078° 43. ___ ___ ___ ’.
