This is an easy Letterbox Hybrid. If you have never done one before, this is a good one to start with. Letterbox hybrids contain a stamp that you can use to stamp your own notebook. If you wish to do that, bring your own stamp ink. I don't want to leave ink in the cache because it tends to get messy. The stamp is not a trade item, so please do not take it.
This is the first cache of many that I plan to put on the Asylum section of the Short Line trail. The trail is still being built, but the Catonsville Rails to Trails folks assured me that the remaining tracks and platform will be left alone. The area can get quite muddy after it rains and that is the reason for the 2 terrain rating.
Please only attempt this cache during daylight hours.

History
The short line provided coal to the Spring Grove Mental Hospital's power plant. The Spring Grove hospital is still in operation and is due South of the cache. The line also provided passenger service and carried supplies to Catonsville businesses and St. Charles College. When the hospital switched to using oil somewhere around 1970, the number of trains going down the line was greatly reduced. The line ceased to be used after 1972.
