The Bull Pond Preserve was donated to the Harwinton Land Trust by the Heflin Family in 1988. Alan Helfin loved nature and visited nature preserves around the world. He insisted to his familty that the property remain a protected wildlife preserve.
The property is located on Locust Road (off of CT Route 4) across the road from the Harwinton Fairgrounds.
There is a mapbox is located at the trailhead just past the observation platform. Alternatively you can print a map in advance from the Harwinton Land Trust webpage at www.harwintonlandtrust.org (click on Bull Pond link).
The geocache is located in the back portion of the property, and is directly off the trail (if your GPS takes you more than 6 feet from the trail you are off course). The cache is in an official blue geocache small container.
The Bull Pond Preserve geocache is the third geocache placed at the Harwinton Land Trust Properties.
