Geocache Description:

A very clear spring of water, called Eastwell, rises near St James church in Winscombe and forms a brook running two grist-mills before joining the river Ax. (Edmund Rack - 1791 Somerset, England).

The footpath to the cache crosses a couple of brooks on its way from Yadley Lane to the upper part of Winscombe exiting onto Winscombe Hill/Church Road. I found this path whilst visiting caches on the Strawberry Line and heading over to get the church micro. The first brook to cross consists of a few stepping stones, so a bit of a challenge if your not nimble. The second brook, 'Eastwell Brook', is bigger and has a nice safe bridge. There are a number of stiles to cross which ever way you approach the site.

If you were just visiting this cache its more accessible from the Church Road, Winscombe Hill end, with limited on-road parking near the signpost at N 51 18.437' W 002 50.629. The cache is a small clear plastic container with a log, pecil and sharpener and room for some small swaps or trackable. The cache is camouflaged. Please re-hook when replacing to prevent the cache falling in!

I have included a small music related gift for the FTF

-------------------------

I decided that my first caches would have a musical theme. This one celebrates the Transitional Bridge used in music. An example of this is , “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” by “The Beach Boys”. First of all you expect that the intro is similar to the 1st verse, however it’s totally different here. It starts off with just a piano part which isn’t even in the same key as the upcoming verse. Then after the transitional bridge you would normally expect to go to the chorus. Here it just goes back to the 2nd verse. I would say there isn’t a chorus in this song or the verse would kind of be the chorus.
