Geocache Description:

War Memorial cache #120 We will remember them ~ Winlaton.


The Winlaton War Memorial is a cross of Celtic type decorated with interlaced design with crucifix at centre. It stands on a square pedestal with sloping shoulders which rests on three plain stone steps.
The dedication is on the front of the pedestal, with the names from 1914-18 in two columns on the three sides using sans serif capitals filled with lead with the names from 1939-45 incised on the sloping shoulders..

This is a multi-cache and can be found a short walk away at N 54° 56.ABC W 001° 43.DEF by working out the coordinates from the clues below.

A = Front of the memorial : Number of letters in the surname of the hero John G
B = Right Side of the memorial : Number of letters in the surname of the last hero listed in the left column.
C = Rear of the memorial : Number of heroes with the surname Irwin
D =Left side of the memorial : Number of heroes listed on the sloping shoulder divided by 2
E = Number of shields behind the memorial on the church times by two
F = Front of the memorial : number of letters in the last word on the sloping shoulder
