Welcome to the Matthew Henson Trail! Matthew Henson was the first African American Arctic Explorer, which kind of makes him like a geocacher in the winter climates here. The park named after him is a greenway along the Turkey Branch of Rock Creek. This trail is a paved 4.5 mile trail and is full of geocaches. The park runs from Aspen Hill to Layhill, Maryland, linking the Rock Creek Trail with the Sligo Creek Trail.
You are looking for a simple lock and lock box with a twist. You will be able to find the cache without a problem, but the issue is extracting the logbook. Please leave all geotools at home including but not limited to: tweezers, screwdrivers, hammers, axes, knives, chainsaws, flamethrowers, and explosives... They are not necessary! We saw this fun container and decided it would be an interesting item to turn into a geocache. The box opens up to easily, and without force to allow you to sign the logbook... You just need to figure out the secret! It WILL take you some time to figure it out if you are not already some sort of magician. Good luck!
