Geocache Description:

Rosscahill forest is a popular recreational area near the village of Rosscahill, Co. Galway. It is a beautiful place to walk and the cache is family friendly - buggies can be pushed along the main trail and the cache is hidden just a short trek off the path.

Large parts of Rosscahill forest are classified as old woodland (approximately 100ha) which can be dated back to the mid to late 19th century. It is very scenic and is a very popular location for recreational walking.

To get there from Galway city head west to Oughterard / Clifden then turn right in Rosscahill (signposted for Brigit’s Garden); forest is on your right after about 1 km.  Do not block the local road – there is additional parking at the church on the left hand side just beyond the forest.

The cache is located just off the main trail about 15 minutes walk from the car park.
You'll find it to the Left hand side as you walk along the main trail.

Look out for two large boulders a short distance off the track on higher ground.
