Spring has arrived and its time to come out from hibernation after the long winter. Its time to head back outside to do what we do best, get out and cache. So, to get the spring off on the right foot, come out to South Park on April 9th, and join the fine folks at PAGA. There is plenty of parking across the street from the shelter, so gather all of your caching friends and come on down to spend some time with us.
We are asking everyone to bring something to share as the event will be potluck. When you note if you are going to be attending, please also note what you will bring to share with the rest of us. I will do my best to keep the page updated with what everyone is bringing. Please note, the shelter does not have any power for hot plates or crock pots.
Just in case the its still cold, we will have a fire burning in the fire pit at the shelter, to give us some extra warmth. There is also a small playground at the shelter, so the young ones will be able to run around and burn off some of that stored up energy from the long winter. There are also plenty of caches located throughout the park, so there should be a few that you might not have found already.
Now that I have gone through all the normal stuff, time to get down to the real business of the event. Beginning in June of 2014 and running to the last day of 2015, PAGA hosted the 2014/2015 Amazing Travel Bug and Geocoin Race. The race has ended and now its time to crown our race champion and to congratulate all of our race participants. The race ended up being closer then it appeared, but in the end, Smitty Sleuth's Wish Upon A Star took home the top prize, with Brinddard's NEWS Travels was a close 2nd. We will be handing out prizes and awards to various racer's at the event.
Even if you did not have a racer in the race, please plan on coming out to this event and enjoy the company of your fellow cachers. Geodogs are welcome to join us as long as they are friendly and stay on their leashes. Hope to see everyone on April 9th!
