This roadside cache is placed near a rest stop on the pass. Accessible when going South. This is a busy road. Don't make a U turn if you are going North.
The Olifantskop Pass is on the N10 just North of Patterson. It has a gentle average gradient of 1:28 with the steeper sections having a gradient of 1:16.
The pass is just over 5km and the climb is approximately 180m up to an altitude of 724m. It was built in 1955
From the picnic spot is a view to the North into the Great Fish River valley.
