Geocache Description:

A view of Mexico to the North from the USA.  This event is being held in the only place in the USA where you look north across a portion of Mexico into our country.  This will be a good time to exchange trackables find a cache or two in the area and just enjoy. We will meet at 12:00 and will plan on finishing around 2:00.

The event is being held in Anzalduas Park. There is a sign for the park off of HGW 494.

The location features a large covered area with plenty of seating as well as a lot of parking. There are cooking facilities we may use.  Stay tuned in as we fine tune the event.  GPS's will come in handy in finding the location of the event.  It is southwest of the community of Granjeno.  There is an entry point into this county park as mentioned in the description above.  During the week, there is no fee so you can just drive right in without stopping at the small building at the entrance.You will experience driving on the top of a levy for a short distance, be able to view the infamous wall, go through an open gate, and cross a dam to get to the cache. All of the roads are paved and two lane so no problems in getting to the cache. MORE DETAILS: We are planning on having something hot in a bun--hot dogs-- well maybe. With the promise of something hot in a bun, please bring your own drink as well as something in the food department that everyone can enjoy. We will have mustard and ketchup as well as napkins and any necessary utensils. We will have a grand prize so will be giving each of you a ticket as you arrive. Please bring something related to geocaching wrapped in a plain brown sack and we will have a drawing for everyone to be able to take home something special. There will be several new caches in the park as well so everyone has the opportunity to qualify for two souvenirs--one for the leap year event and one for finding a cache other than the event cache. NOTE: The rules of the park indicate several things including No Firearms. LATEST WORD: The anticipation for this once in every four years is building . Looks like about 50+ will be there sooo. Be sure to bring something related to caching placed in a plain brown paper bag to be placed for a drawing. BOY, CAN'T WAIT--There are caches placed in the area with more to come so come prepared to cache and cache and visit and enjoy.
