     Bretton Baptist Church (BBC) was established as a new congregation of another Baptist church in May 1982.  Its formal establishment as a church in its own right took place in October 1984.

     Is present membership is around 200.  A number of people who signed the founding charter are still part of the membership.

       The church originally met in a local school and then the local community centre before the church building was completed.
