Milwaukee County has over 140 parks and parkways totaling nearly 15,000 acres. Among these are over a dozen that provide access to Lake Michigan. This is one of those parks that provides beautiful photo ops for residents and visitors. A friend from Texas saw Lake Michigan for the first time and exclaimed: "that's no lake, it's an ocean!" This is where the name "Bonita vista al mar" came from.
These coordinates will bring you to one of the best Lake Michigan overlook points our city has to offer. It has also become a point where gifts to the city accumulate. Within thirty feet of this spot you will find gifts from a pair of local philanthropists (Charles T. Bradley, and William H. Metcalf), from a foreign government (The City of Quebec) and from a local business (Liberty Bank).
