Geocache Description:

The best way to access the geocache is by the Creekside trail as there is no parking for automobiles.  It is a trail rest area.  There is private property bordering the east side of the Creekside trail rest area and driveway that leads to private property to the west.   This is a dead end road with little traffic, so you should be able to safely pull off to the side of the road if needed, but again, the best way to access this area is the Creekside trail.

Out geobiking on the Creekside trail, I decided to stop at this little Creekside trail park.  While there, I read the sign about the history of William Maxwell who lived near here.

It was a hot day, so I made sure to hydrate during my rest.  I spent a bit of time there reading about the history and hydrating, and an older gentlemen on a electric scooter chair rolled up to me asking if I was okay as he thought I might be in need of some assistance.  While talking and we found out we have a lot in common.  During out conversation, Ken said he served in Vietnam and as police officer for over 30 years.  He told me about more history of the area that has since been taken down, which is sad, but sometimes that happens.

Although I didn’t finish the route I had planned due to us having a great time talking, I enjoyed our dialogue and would love to talk with Ken again one day.  Hopefully you are able to meet Ken too and enjoy engaging conversion with him as well.

I am placing this cache in dedication to Ken for his service to our country both here and abroud.  Thanks Ken.
