This is a dog friendly hike, and overall it is not too strenuous (unless you're lugging a full ammo-can on your back for four miles around the lake looking for a decent cache site). If you've got some time, trying hiking around the lake for some nice views. The entire hike trek is a little over 4 miles, but the distance to the cache is only a fraction of that.
Your best bet getting here is to come through Fairfax and parking at: N 37° 57.531 / W 122° 36.701 (note - there's a $5 fee to get to this point). Check out the book "Hiking Marin" - hike C13 for a detailed trail map.
After parking, head up onto the earthen dam and head across it into the woods to your left.
The cache is under a bit of cover, so you may want to take a look at the photos in case you can't get decent satelite reception.
Please note your visit in the log book, snap a photo of yourself and return the camera to the cache.
