Geocache Description:

Welcome to Latrobe, CA.

I love to read, therefore I created a geocache with a reading theme.

Please take a book, even if you didn't bring one.   I’m stocking this one with several dozen books from kinder to Adult.

Make sure to latch both sides of container so that the books stay dry.

Also because of the size of the container, it can hold large or odd sized trackables. Feel free to drop them by.

History:
Latrobe was the terminus of the Placerville and Sacramento Rail Road.  The name, bestowed by F.A. Bishop, chief engineer of the railroad, was in honor of Benjamin Henry Latrobe, II, chief engineer of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, America's first railroad.  A post office operated at Latrobe from 1864 to 1921.
