Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden at the top of the Keith George Memorial Park - Ridge Loop Track, western leg. Look for the most impressive tree on the Western Hills.

The Keith George Memorial Loop Track

This loop was originally two tracks, the Trig and North Ridge tracks, both of which ran to the ridge. Unfortunately the North Ridge Track now loops back to join the other track due to private land. Both sides of the loop are steep at the bottom, progressively getting easier as you get towards the cache. The terrain rating of this cache jumps in winter due to mud and slippery roots. In summer it's a pleasure, and the cache is located well above any traffic noise. You'll pass a couple of other geocaches along the way which offer an excuse to stop and enjoy the beech forest.

Access

The car park is the Keith George Memorial Park carpark just after the Silverstream lights on the River Road (SH2). The cache is on the left hand track, so take the second turn off you come to about ten minutes from the carpark.
