Ryder was originally the start of the Paw Patrol (PP) series around Denshaw and New Tame The PP series was based around the River Tame which begins its journey in Denshaw, flows through much of Saddleworth and Tameside to join the River Goyt at Stockport, at which point it forms the River Mersey.
Paw Patrol is my grandson's favourite TV Show and as far as I know, the Paw Patrol have no other relevance to this locality. However when considering the Paw Patrol official pledge, you never know when a cacher may need assistance! PAW Patrol official pledge: "In dark of night, in light of day, we, the PAW Patrol, will serve Adventure Bay. From runaway trains to stranded whales, we'll rush to the rescue with wagging tails. If danger is near, just give a yelp! The PAW Patrol is here to help!" Ryder is a young, precocious, 10-year-old boy who is the leader of the PAW Patrol. During an emergency, he calls and leads the pups on missions to help the citizens of Adventure Bay. Unfortunately the pups have all been archived due to regular flooding over half of the route but Ryder remains in place. Wham Lane, Denshaw, is not home to George Michael or Andrew Ridgeley but as the sign confirms, there are Llamas to be found nearby. The cache is a small container suitable for small swaps and TB's.
