Geocache Description:

Lake Adair Park is located in College Park and is popular with walkers, bikers, joggers, fishermen, birders and many who just enjoy its scenic beauty and wildlife from one of the benches located around the perimeter of the lake.

NOTE: In the summer of 2017 Boy Scout Troop 200 replaced all the bird information centers around Lake Adair, and during this process A.K.A. Swamp Chicken (which originally occupied this kiosk) flew the coop. Its nesting place was taken over by Ardea herodias, A.K.A. Crane. Then sometime in December 2017 the Scout troop replaced this kiosk information again and Crane’s nest was taken over by Aix sponsa, A.K.A Wood Duck. Since Wood Duck females frequently lay eggs in each other’s nests, it’s understandable that Wood Duck has resettled in AKA Heron’s nest. Wood Ducks feed on fallen seeds of nearby trees and shrubs, so you may be lucky enough to encounter one of these colorful birds as you search for the cache.

Please be careful to retrieve the cache carefully and replace it securely as found. Parking is not allowed on the lakeside of Lake Adair Blvd.

Congratulations to Rahnnergothuc for FTF!
