This geocache takes you up a steep-ish track that is lined with bushes and small trees along with an abundance of wildlife! Rabbits, hares, deer, badgers, foxes and red squirrels have all been seen enjoying this picturesque spot. Also depending on the time of year you choose to visit, the sides of the track are lined with possibly the biggest, juiciest brambles you've ever seen or the sweetest wild raspberries - both red and yellow varieties!
This cache can be done in two ways: you can park in Cuminestown and walk up the track to the cache and back (a round trip of about a mile) OR park in Cuminestown and do the circular walk that will take you back to the village (just over 2.5miles). This walk takes you close to another cache: GC2TQ39 - Great Place Names - Rashypans. To do this circular walk you would continue following the track up the hill, it turns into a concrete road at waypoint ONE, do not veer left but keep going on to the junction with the tarmac road at waypoint TWO. Turn right here and this road will take you straight back to Cuminestown.
The track itself is quite rutted and uneven, it may not be suitable for many baby buggies.
Happy hunting!!
