PLEASE BE STEALTHY WITH THIS CACHE
I decided that an easy and large letterbox was just the thing that Leawood needed so I set out to find just the right spot. After some searching I came up with the location of this cache.
I also wanted to hide the letterbox with a few steps involving the classical spirit of the type, with an on-the-ground journey to the find.
Inside is a recycled self-inking stamp; please leave it in the container when you are done. Enjoy!
Your Instructions
Starting at the listed coordinates, walk southeast to the fourth drainage square in your path. From there, line-up your position with the Leawood city flag. Now proceed 118 paces along this line to make the find. You will encounter several obstacles, but do your best to keep track of your distance and the line that you need to follow. That's it!
Now, this could be a little daunting and may leave a bit of variance, so alternatively you may find it easier to treat this as a field puzzle. Along your route, you'll pass "The Sentinel". Find its sign. From there, execute a projection of 110 feet at a bearing of approximately 260 degrees and the cache will be yours!
There is a small prize for FTF.
Many thanks to Brian Anderson, Superintendent of Parks - City of Leawood for approving this placement.
