Geocache Description:

The Jasmer Challenge: Find caches placed in each month since Geocaching started.

The Jasmer Solution: Fly to Newcastle and pick off precious 2001 hides.

Event details: Tuesday 23rd February 2016, 7pm until at least 8pm in the Fayre & Square pub.

Abusing Cheap Flights is the name of the game: the fourth outing of this infamous series involves €34 return flights from Dublin to Newcastle with €100 each for a two night hotel stay and a €42 hire car. It is all timed to provide convenient, cheap everything with the hopes of me ticking off two Jasmer targets and theswerve four. So why not throw an event in for good measure?

Image: Targets in our sights for the few days!

So come join us to celebrate an enormous waste of petrol and aviation fuel to find plastic boxes. We'll meet at 700pm at the above co-ordinates, inside the Fayre and Square pub, somewhere inside (we'll make ourselves obvious). Food and drink will be available if you're hungry/thirsty. We'll hopefully have picked off our targets by this stage so will be enjoying a pint (or more) and some grub, flushed with success.

As far as I can tell from mapping, parking is free here and there is plenty of it. For public transport, get the tram to Callerton Parkway and walk the few hundred meters from there.

I'm big into TB/Geocoin discovery [nearly at 9,000 now] so I'd be delighted to discover any tracking codes you have in your collections. I'll have codes for my pile of about 25 with me for discovery.

Note: OSM mapping, used by Groundspeak and Geocaching seem to list this pub as "The Wheatsheaf". Google Maps calls it "Castle Hotel". Take your pick!
