Geocache Description:

A really beautiful walk to Slieve Binnians Eastern 'top' via the Mourne Wall.

However Mountain weather can change without warning leading to quite hazerdous conditions at altitude.  With this in mind, be sure to be prepared for a strenuous hike.  Wear walking boots, waterproof clothing, food, water, compass/map, and everything else you will need for the 'great outdoors'.  Be safe!  Enjoy.

Also your camera/phone.

Beginning your hike at the 'Carrick Little' car park, you will walk the trail until arriving at the heavy iron gate (Belfast water company) After passing through this gate, it is then a matter of turning left and following the Mourne wall for some distance uphill until arriving at a stile just below Slieve Binnians main summit tor assembly.  Cross the wall via this stile, then follow a not terribly obvious unpaved path (uphill) (South Easterly direction), which will take in the direction of Slieve Binnian's East top (Miss No Mountain) with its fabulous granite summit plateau.  Reverse direction for your return journey.

This mountain has always been of great importance to me.  Its altitude allows its 'mountain status' for sure.  It also looks like a completely separate mountain from the main Slieve Binnian ridge.  I cannot find mention of it on any of my paper maps.  Certainly a little known summit. However when I found a hiding place for this small cache, I noticed that my Garmin map trial package has it listed as Slieve Binnian's East 'top'......

Ah well, it looks like I cannot name this wonderful mountain after myself after all.   As I lifetime lover of the Mountains of Mourne, this would have to be the ultimate 'honor' for myself, or indeed, the many thousands of happy hillwalkers. Cache is a small tupperware container containing a couple of swaps and a log book. The cache itself is is sitting wedged neatly under a large rock and hidden from view. A much smaller piece coarse granite (rather elongated) is guarding the entrance.  As somebody who adores this mountain range I would ask that it remains this way (It would be a distinct advantage to wedge the cache up into its 'slot' and cover with the smaller slab as very high wind speeds are extremely common at this altitude (which is in excess of 600 metres), also due to the very really chance of it being muggled by folk enjoying this beautiful summit during picnics and photo taking opportunities.  Also, please remember to bring some trash off the mountain if found during your hike.  Cheers. Wonderful landscape scenes can be photographed from this vantage point. Especially looking towards Slieve Binnian, or across the 'Eastern top' towards the mighty Slieve Donard. We are looking forward to seeing some great images!

p.s. cache is at or very close to the coordinates. Warning - There are small cliffs close to Ground Zero. Straying too close could put you in danger, especially in stormy/windy conditions/ice/low visibility.
