The high pointy tower of Glanrhyd Chapel can be seen far and wide in the Llanwnda area. Now, as in 1899 when it was built, it is often known as the “Chapel with the Tower” or “Different Chapel”. The land where it stands was given by Mr and Mrs Thomas Williams of Gwylfa, who believed that building another Church would be a spiritual asset for the area.
Be careful not to drop in the river!
Mae tŵr uchel pigfain Capel Glanrhyd i’w weld o bell yn ardal Llanwnda. Fel pan adeiladwyd yn 1899 mae’r adeilad hyd heddiw yn cael ei adnabod fel y ‘capel gyda’r tŵr’ neu’r ‘capel sydd yn wahanol’. Haelioni teulu Gwylfa, sef Mr a Mrs Thomas Williams, roddodd y llain o dir i adeiladu’r capel arno gan y credent, y byddai codi eglwys arall yn gaffaeliad ysbrydol i’r ardal.
