"Col da messa" ist das ladinische Wort für "Hügel der Hl. Messe". Im Mittelalter breitete sich auch in S. Christina die Krankheit Lepra aus. Die Personen, die daran erkrankten wurden zur heutigen Fraktion Plesdinaz gebracht und durften nicht ins Dorf herunter kommen. An Sonntagen durften sie nur bis zu diesen Ort begehen um die Hl. Messe "zuzuhören" damit sie nicht die gesunden Personen ansteckten. Hier ist eine nette Bank und man kann die schöne Aussicht auf dem Langkofel und Plattkofel genießen.
Vom Haus Orchidee, gleich oberhalb der Kirche, führt ein Kreuzweg über Col da Mëssa zum Ortsteil Plesdinaz. Die 14 Stationen des Kreuzweges aus Bronze wurden von einheimischen Bildhauern in Bronze angefertigt und aufgestellt. Eröffnet und eingeweiht wurde der Kreuzweg im September 1998.

Cristina la malattia Lebbra e le persone infettate vennero portate nell´attuale frazione Plesdinaz e gli fu vietato di scendere nel paese. Per evitare che queste persone infettavano le persone sane, potevano scendere le domeniche fino a questo posto per "ascoltare" la S. Messa che venne tenuta in chiesa. In questo modo non infettavano le persone sane. Qui c´é una panca e si puo ammirare la splendida vista sul Sassolungo e Sassopiatto.
Dalla casa Orchidee, sopra la chiesa di S. Cristina parte la Via Crucis che porta al Col da messa e prosegue per la frazione Plesdinaz. Le 14 stazioni sono state fatte dagli sculttori locali e inaugurate il settembre del 1998.
