Dover for sure! Sandstone Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Balayang: I am archiving this cache due to the unfortunate lack of action taken to restore it, or any communication from the cache owner, dancesports, requesting additional time.

Despite ample opportunities provided for the Cache Owner to respond, their silence leads me to the conclusion that the cache has been abandoned.

In such cases, archived caches will not be unarchived, and as a result, this location is now open for the placement of a new cache by another interested party.

Geocache Description:

Dover for sure! Is a series of 6 caches to highlight a few spots around the area. There are a number of beaches and walking paths between the caches, so you can choose to walk or drive. This one is the most outlying and if you walk from here a small component will be along the roadside (unless the tide is out a long way).  You could choose to walk the whole way or mix n match which caches to walk to.

There is a small beach here which is well used in the summer when shacks are occupied.  An interesting area for kids to explore with sandstone at both ends of the beach. Also beautiful views across the bay.

The cache container is a micro but not a nano, please retrieve and replace carefully. Please bring a pen or pencil for this one.

Dover is a lovely seaside town. It's a good place to base yourself if you want to explore the far south. There are tourist attractions such as Hastings Caves and Pool, the Ida Bay railway and the Tahune Airwalk ( via Geeveston). Also access to plenty of short walks, like Duckhole Lake, Southport Lagoon, South Cape, Hartz Mt walks (via Geeveston). This summer I managed 8 walks and there are still more to do.
