Geocache Description:

This cache was hidden to commemorate Manitoba's first geocache and the 6,000th day of caching in Manitoba (July 11, 2017).

The original “GPS Stash” was hidden on May 3, 2000 in northern Oregon by a guy named Dave Ulmer. Manitoba joined the geocaching world nine months later, when Brian Drader placed one in his Winnipeg front yard on February 5, 2001. He moved with his family to Killarney, Manitoba in the summer of 2004, rehiding the cache in his new front yard. More than 16 years later, C1BUA – cache 1n a builtup area remains the oldest geocache in Manitoba. On July 11, 2017, 5,999 days will have passed after its original placement in Winnipeg, marking 6,000 days of geocaching in Manitoba.

Park in the Nature Playground lot for quickest access. Depending on how thick the foliage is, you may be visible from the path to the north, so please be stealthy. The cover in this area can affect your GPS signal, so use the hint to help focus your search. Please cover the cache back up after you find it.

Kudos to Stonagal for the original cache about 5,000 days of caching in MB and for doing the calculations for 6,000 days.
