Geocache Description:

This cenotaph, meant to remind citizens of the sacrifices made by those who served in WWI and WWII, was ultimately intended to be a reminder of peace. Created by Dutch artist John van Boxtel, it symbolizes the suffering of a country at war but also our hope for the future.  Unveiled on September 16, 1990 the monument sits directly in front of the East Gwillimbury Civic Centre.

May we all find peace in our lives.
