Geocache Description:

Hutchison Park

A quiet park named after James Hutchison who lived in the area with his wife & 12 children.

James arrived in Australia in 1875 from Ireland as a free settler. He worked for Cobb & Co as a groomsman & later had his own business. He also had an interest in community affairs & in 1893 was elected as an Alderman of the Sandgate Municipal Council.

This is a good park if the ones near the sea are too crowded. It has a playground under a huge shady tree & space to run about or kick a ball.

Or once you grab the cache take the kids for a train ride.

The cache has room for some swaps & contains a pencil.

Hope you enjoy the park!
