Herut is a moshv in the Sharon near Tel-Mond belonging to Lev Hasharon regional council. It was established in 1930, near the Arab village of Tira, by members of "Freedom of Judea", as they decided to take their fate in their hands and create a framework for a joint settlement. They got loans to build homes from the founding families of Marks &SPENCER, Lord Israel Ziv and Arry Sacher. The name was originally "Herut Judah", but was shortened to just "Herut".
