Dartmoor Trig Points - Sourton Tor Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Yukonhuskies: I no longer have the time to spend on Geocaching and I certainly do not have the patience to deal with an ever increasing number of snowflakes.

Thank you to all the people who have genuinely found my caches over the years.

Geocache Description:

While we would love to see photos of you, your party or pets at the trig pillar please ensure the flush bracket number is not visible in the picture.

The cache is NOT at the posted co ordinates.

Stage 1: Use your OL28 1:25000 map

At the Sourton Tor trig point, you head south where you pick up a decent track that appears to be a dismantled railway. Following this track to gradually gain altitude you see an impressive tor to the south and decide to ascend it and stand atop the highest point. Approx 1.5km to the south west, a stone cross of some considerable size is visible so you head to it. From the cross, a track can be seen on the lower slopes of the hill that leads downhill; following this brings you to a parking area. Which OS grid square are you now in? Grid = ABCD

Stage 2: Visit the trig point and obtain the four digit number from the base plate. Trig No = EFGH
