Ono no Komachi
Ono no Komachi is a female poet (circa 9th century) in the Heian period. She was known as a matchless beautiful woman. Her poem was also selected for Ogura Hyakunin Isshu.
Hananoirowa Utsurinikerina Itadurani
Wagamiyonifuru Nagameseshimani
Thy love hath passed away from me
Left desolate, forlorn -
In winter-rains how wearily
Thy summer past I mourn！

According to one opinion, she died from a disease around here on the way to Oshu from Kyoto. There is a stone grave which is believed to be that of Ono no Komachi. The "Komachi no Yakata" is a small park for cultural exchange introducing a tradition of Ono no Komachi. There are local product shop and light meal restaurant.
By the way, there is a numerical puzzle called "Komachi-zan" in Japanese whose calculation result becomes 100. Please think about the following numerical formula.

To complete the formula, substitute mathematical symbol for A-I.
You may think why the right side of the formula is the value of 100. A noble man proposed to her day after day but he died in an accident on the 100th day. It is a story of the Noh and is fiction but it tells that she was such beautiful.
Here, following conditions are set on the formula mentioned above.
1) You can use mathematical symbol such as + - / * and a blank for each A to I.
2) It is once that you can use the plus symbol "+".
3) There are three minus symbols "-" among A to I.

小野小町
平安時代の女流歌人小野小町は絶世の美女として知られていました。その歌は百人一首にも選ばれています。
花の色は移りにけりないたづらに
我が身世にふるながめせし間に
小野小町が京都から奥州に向かう途中、このあたりで病没したという伝承があります。小町の墓といわれるものは全国各地にありますが、この近くにもあるようです。小町の館は小野小町を紹介するとともに人々の交流の場として利用されています。売店や軽食店があります。
ところで、

といった式でA～Iに記号をあてはめるというのを小町算というらしいです。なぜ100という数字を使うのでしょうか。一説には小野小町の下に百夜通いつづけようとした深草少将に由来するそうです。

2) + は一つです。
3) - は三つです。
