Dandenong Ranges National Park
The Dandenong Ranges National Park (DRNP) is a national park located in the Greater Melbourne region of Victoria, Australia. The 35,400-hectare (87,000-acre) national park is situated from 31 kilometres (19 mi) at its western most points at Ferntree Gully and Boronia to 45 kilometres (28 mi) at it easternmost point at Silvan, east of the Melbourne city centre.
The park was proclaimed on 13 December 1987, amalgamating the Ferntree Gully National Park, Sherbrooke Forest and Doongalla Estate. In 1997 the Olinda State Forest, Mt. Evelyn and Montrose Reserve were formally added to the national park.
Hilton Track (aka Cobblestone Road)
I knew very little about Hilton Track however have since found1 the following:
"The route of Cobblestone Road crosses Mountain Highway about halfway between The Basin and Sassafras on a sharp bend ad continues on to Ferny Creek as Hilton Road. It was used as a coach and mail route until Mountain Highway was completed in the mid 1920's..."
Geocache
The DRNP series gradually gets harder!
This geocache is a small clear plastic container approx 3x4x2cm. It is out of sight but not hard to find if you are looking hard. Good luck! Please sign the log, come prepared to trade, and replace GC to where you found it!
Did you know that 3batmania plants collectable cards & coins in their GC? Be either FTF or just plain lucky to find one! Feedback appreciated.
