A new woodland area is being created in Biggleswade to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The Jubilee Wood is at a Farm close to a Business Park, is being created by a Rural Communities Charity and a County Council in close consultation with the local community.
The first phase of tree planting has begun and is mainly native woodland species, but also includes a community orchard using locally distinctive varieties of fruit trees.
The 20-acre wood will form an important part of the Biggleswade ‘Green Wheel’, a new project which aims to create a green circular corridor around the town.
